JP Backhouse is an Amsterdam based multi genre DJ / Producer born and raised on the beautiful multicultural Island of Curacao. His unique sound combining heavy drums, infectious rhythms and catchy riffs is gaining global popularity world wide with US radio play on hot 97 FM and many spotify editorial playlist placements. You can expect a unique mix of Caribbean beats and rhythms, hip hop influences and European electronic sounds, resulting in a variety of styles including Dancehall, Moombahton Reggaeton, Afrobeat and more.
He is the mastermind that laid the beat down for Tina’s (FKA hood celebrity) popping single “Skin out di red” that has been taking the world by storm. With US radio play by funkmaster flex and multiple other DJ’s on hot 97 FM the “Backhouse Beatz” voice tag has been unleashed globally. In this beat he incorporated classical music in dancehall in a way that has not been done before.
But don’t ever think that he’s a one trick pony as his musical bag is more diverse than your average producer as he is making waves in the moombahton scene as well. By combining cutting edge synth sounds that hail from his EDM producing period he captured the attention of the legendary DJ / producer duo Afro Bros. With two releases under his belt on their label Afreaka records “Bluk Bluk” and “Geen tijd” he captured the dutch audience with his european sound which also can be heard on his remix of “Don dadda” by noone other then Leftside, one of the bigger MC’s in Dancehall.
Another masterpiece that must not be overlooked is “Bedroom Bully” with none other then Richie Loop, the multi talented vocalist, producer and songwriter. In this track they effortlessly combine R&B influences with dancehall. JP acquired a spot now on Richie’s roster as one of his most reliable producers and together they have been responsible for “Skin out di red” and will be making a lot more bangers.

He is also label owner of Backhouse Beats on which he hand picks rising talents and introduces them to the world. Tracks like “Bumpa with jamaican vocalist “Xulcha” and “Energy” with Australian/Ugandan vocalist “Sokel” are prime examples of tracks that have put Backhouse Beatz on the Map.
His UrbanShake mixtapes consisting of reggeaton, moombahton, rap and afro beat are causing quite a stir and eventually got played on FunX radio, the biggest urban radio station in Holland.
This is just the beginning of many big things to come.
